I have an account with HDFC bank Koramangala, I had deposited a local cheque of ICICI on Monday morning at 10 am. My cheque had not cleared till Wednesday as i has issued some cheques based on the third party cheque that was deposited on Monday. I had visited the bank quite a few times asking them for an update on the 3rd party's cheque that i had deposited into the bank. They informed me that they are still processing it.
I had waited till Wednesday evening after this i was fed up and called the phone banking people, they informed me that they need 3 days for clearance as per RBI rules. I had informed them if no action is going to be taken i will be filling a case against them after speaking to them with such force, my call was transferred to a supervisor where he showed no courtesy, he informed me that he would check with the clearance department and would give me a call back.
At 9.30pm i had received a call from him informing that the 3rd party cheque had been bounced back due to insufficient funds.
The next day i went up to the operations manager asking her why was there such a delay, she informs me saying that the cheque is cleared on Wednesday. I informed her that when i had spoken to the customer relations people at 8 pm my cheque information had not been updated how come they had information on this at 9.30 pm and how did they update the records.
FOR ME TO RECEIVE THE BOUNCED CHEQUE BACK IT HAD TAKEN 2 WEEKS FROM THE BANK'S END
This makes me feel what type of customer service or operation does this bank handle. As customers do we need to run behind these people so much or do they need to run behind us to upbring their business.
