I had requested a statement for 1 year to be generated from my two Savings Bank Accounts and 1 current account held with Koramangala Branch, Bangalore.
The statement generation charges of Rs. 50 per account have been promptly deducted from my accuont but the statements have not been sent to me by post, email or personally at my branch despite several trips and requests.
It appears that there are a bunch of incompetent buffons out there manning the branch counters as well as PhoneBanking.
I have been personally assured by one of the "relationship" managers at the branch that the statement will be delivered by office boy, courier email etc, but these assurances never come true.
I know it does not make a difference to these idiots and I am banking with them on a minimalistic because my accounts are locked to certain other services. But, I am giong to explore the next opportunity to move my accounts out of HDFC Bank. I have already moved out 5 other current accounts from here to Vijaya Bank which is more approachable and not tied down to "technological" problems.
But, this is the standard, consistent attitude of this "new-generation" bank (others are no better, or even worse).
