Subject: Amount debited but funds not received (account no. - 06342560005382)
Sir,
I am having an account in the HDFC bank, branch Feroz Gandhi market, Ludhiana. In the afternoon of 17th February ’09, I went to an ATM (located in the R.K. Machines’ premises) to withdraw Rs.10000 but the amount is not received.
When I inserted my ATM card in the machine to withdraw money, the screen showed ‘Processing’ and suddenly the network broke out. The guard told me that, that day the network was breaking again and again. So he suggested me to try again after some time. So I did the same but again the same problem occurred. I stood there was sometime expecting that the machine may process the amount. But nothing happened. Meanwhile a person came there to withdraw a petty amount and his transaction was successful. I tried again but the network broke again. So I went away.
As soon I left the place, I got the SMS from the bank about the withdrawal of Rs.10000. Then I called up Mr. Baninder Singh working in HDFC Bank. He told me that the amount will roll back again in your account automatically.
Then after a couple of months when I got my accounts checked by the accountant, it came to notice that Rs.10000 were debited from my account due to some electronic problem in the ATM that day. So I lodged a complaint in the HDFC Bank through phone. I received a call from Reena Chadda working in the bank. I told her the same story but I didn’t get any response.
After a month or so I personally met the Manager of HDFC Bank, Mr. Paras Gupta. He told me to go to the other branch of the bank and meet Mr. Mudit Babuta who could help me to extract the web cam recording of the ATM that day to know if the transaction took place or not. But Mr. Mudit didn’t give a positive response. So I broke my ATM card on the spot and gave it to him.
Then I lodged a new complaint on phone and till now I haven’t got any response for the same. My complaint no. is “MOH 00 099 72”.
I am really very annoyed with this mess and want it to be solved as soon as possible. So please kindly help me out with the same.
