NEVER go for HDFC credit card. It is a trap

HDFC credit card department is filled with cheaters & fraudulent people. Just avoid HDFC credit cards. I was contacted multiple times by Banu (Ph:080-40985027) from HDFC Bangalore and incessantly offered me HDFC credit card. She said she is offering me credit card based on my loan approval amount & said she has all the necessary documents except a copy of PAN card. She offered me a Gold credit card with 5% cash back on total monthly bill & Platinum credit card with 10% cash back on total monthly bill. She said there are absolutely no restrictions & the card can be used anywhere and on anything. On their website when I couldn't find the Platinum card with the features what Banu explained, I asked if she is sure about that 10% cash back & she confidently said yes. Finally I agreed to go for it. She sent marketing executive to my office who collected the PAN card copy & took my signature on the application form. The next day I spoke to Banu & confirmed that she has sent the form for processing to their credit card division in Madras. She said it will be getting a verification call in a day or two & it would take 20 days to receive the card. I did not receive any verification call. After 20 days when I did not hear from HDFC at all, I tried contacting Banu continuously for 2 weeks & no one picks up the call. Finally when she picked up the call & said she will ask her colleague to give me a verification call right in presence of her, which never happened. Later I when I contacted Banu again she repeated the same about verification call. Finally I got frustrated with her & reached her manager. He had no clue about this whole thing but figured out that my card was rejected because my company is not listed. How can HDFC be so negligent? Before offering me a credit card when HDFC had all my documents in advance including my salary slip which states which company I work for. I requested the manager to give me the application number so that I can raise a grievance. He said he will call me the next day but in vain. That shows how much customer focus he is. Finally I spoke to a person from verification team who said they can still process my credit card purely on my salary but not relating to loan amount. He asked me what card I had applied for. When I explained him what Banu had explained about the 10% cash back Platinum card, to my surprise this guy said that they do not have such kind of card at all. He setup a conference call & brought Banu on the call to understand the card that was offered to me. Here comes the shocker... Banu straight away said that she did not talk about 10% cash back card at all. She simply denied that she had offered me this card. This is sheer cheating. All that they are interested is to somehow dump a credit card by mentioning false features. This happened to my colleague too from some other HDFC person. People like Banu do not care for customer satisfaction & has spoiled the image of HDFC. Neither the HDFC management nor her managers take this seriously & they themselves are careless. Now with this kind of system how would anyone be interested to become a customer of HDFC? Beware of HDFC & just stay away from them! Do not get into this trap.
