I am having problem with two internet transactions which I made one month ago.
I would like to give a background of what had happened with the two transactions:-
Help4Bill:- I wanted to download a movie “She Stole My Voice”. I went to the vendor website and it was showing the availability of the movie. After making the payment through my card, I found that the movie was missing in its database. I haven’t downloaded any movies from the web site. It’s a case of misrepresentation or even fraud.
Film Baby: - It’s again a web site where we can download movies. They were having “She Stole my Voice”. While I was downloading the movie I met with some technical problem from their end. I contracted then for the solution but then didn’t solve my problem.
I asked the credit card banker (HDFC Bank) to tell the remedy. Bank asked me to sent letter for the stop payment.
I faxed, dully signed letter, to the credit card banker (HDFC Bank) to stop both payments.
As per the current status, bank is saying since the transactions had been made by me it can not be stopped and I need to make the payments.
I need your advice on following matter: -
I have made a credit card transaction. I instructed my credit card banker to stop the payment before the banker has made the payment. Is it not the responsibility of the bank to stop the payment to the vendor?
Do I need to make payments to the bank for the above mentioned two transactions? What other remedies do I have?
