I am an employee of a MNC. I was working in WIPRO Kolkata where in I had been offered an HDFC Credit Card. The agent told me that you can make any purchase and that can be converted into EMI. After i got the card, I though to use it hence I called up Kolkata HDFC C.Card dept. to confirm that if I'll make any transaction can that be converted into EMI. The executive confirmed me positive that yes. After that I made a purchase of 13K. After making the Transaction, I called up the C.care and requested them to convert the transaction into EMI for which they straight away denied. They said that unless the card is 3 months old, the outstandings cannot be converted into EMI. I was shocked hence after I stopped using the card.
After sometime my brother has used the card for around 2-3 thousand rs. of transaction.
I got a call from collection department to make the payment of minimum amount which I did twice...
I stopped making payment because Collection department kept on disturbing me. After 5-6 months in July 6th i got an email from HDFC Bank with the card statement in which I saw the outstanding was 33 THOUSAND RS. I could not call up C.Care to clarify on it instantly. After 3 days on July 9th I got a call from my Father stating that someone has called him up stating that I have run away after taking 40 THOUSAND Rs. of Bank and threatning to issue a legal notice. I immidietely called up on that number from which my Father has recived the call and spoke with Shruti (Manager) regarding this. I asked her even after having my number why somebody has called up on my Father's number. She said that she does not my number however I had already provided them my number in past which they failed to update.
She was straight away telling me Lier and said that you have used the card and you have to pay. She did tell me that we can do a settlement on 21 THOUSAND on which I replied if I have'nt used that much then why will I pay that much. Whatever I used I am ready to pay. She said that she can wave off the LPC and lets settle it down on 21 thousand. She said that If you want to escalate it, go whereever you wish, be it RBI, Consumer Court or any Court and she disconnected the call.
Even after having my number instead of talking to me they are unnecessary calling my parents and threatening them who does not know any thing about it.
They are forcing me to pay the money which I have never used it.
