Reg: Problem in availing cashless claim due to wrong No Claim Bonus given by the insurance company

Dear Sir,

I have bought a used SANTRO car from Mahindra First Choice Okhla New Delhi in 2008 and got my car insured by HDFC ERGO General Insurance Company Limited. At the end of 2009 I claimed for a rear windshield as it got broken in an accident. Company noted the same in its record. Later on while renewal of the insurance policy neither they sent any prior intimation by post/mail/phone that policy is about to expire nor after me getting it renewed on my own they updated the prior claim status in the same. They sent the cover note (only on email) along with No claim bonus without mentioning anything about the same in cover note.

For renewal they asked me to pay Rs. 4348/- without telling me that there is any no claim bonus is being given to me and I paid the above mentioned amount to them. Then I met with a small accident and gave my car for repairing in MGF Hyundai Okhla, HDFC ERGO informed me over the phone that cashless claim is approved and I can come to take my car. When I reached to take my car their surveyer said that despite taking a claim last year I have also taken a no claim bonus so this claim cannot be cashless till the time I pay further balance amount. And if I want to take my car so I have to pay the entire amount which is Rs. 13, 187/- in full. For which I had no option than to pay it as I already waited for 1 week for this cashless claim procedure to get completed.

Now my point is why didn't company update the status in their system before issuing a cover note/policy and if I would have not taken the 2nd claim then how would have they found out that this customer has been given with a no claim bonus without its eligebility to her. Becuase of this mistake of the company I had to suffer with waiting of a week for my car and 100% payment of repair.

Kindly take a strong action against this company to save consumers' time, inconvenience and money. And also ask the company to pay my money in full.
