Hi :

We have purchased two Dual flow window aircons - 1.5 tons and 1 ton in March. In the first three months the 1.5 ton aircon stopped working and initially nobody attended to it from Hitachi then after the intervention of the dealer Sumaria from Mumbai ; we had the service engineers visit and informing us that the PCB has gone bad, this took one month to set right. The company refused to replace the product even though it was only a couple of months old. After another couple of months the swivel vent motor stopped working this was again a long wait to set right. Another couple of months and again it stopped working. This took again the dealer to get it the engineers over.

Last week the 1 ton aircon stopped working this time it took four days for us to contact the National aircon service station which informed that we had to log in the complaint on the tollfree number. Having done that the Engineers have now informed that the 1 ton aircon also has a PCB problem and will have to be repaired ; it will not be replaced.

I find it very exasperating that after paying a premium for the brand name the product itself fails within months of installation and not one but both the aircon stop working this is unacceptable from Hitachi.

At present the 1 ton aircon is still under repairs.

I am not sure if Hitachi products are right for Indian market
