Regarding Callertune charges in the bill period from 24.8.2009 to 23.9.2009

Dear Ms. Nidhi,

NODAL OFFICER CUSTOMER CARE,

I am using post paid VODAFONE No. 9811828164 since 2004. Suddenly on 23.9.2009 at 4.31 pm I received SMS from Vodafone, “Your request for Caller Tunes services has been registered”, even though I have not made any such request. This SMS followed another SMS at 4.34 from 56789, “You have successfully activated your Caller tune service”. This followed another SMS at 4.36 pm from 59876, “Yeh Reshmi Zulfen has been set as your Caller Tune for 90 days for all. To search for more Caller tunes call 55655 and say song/movie name (Re 1/min)”. Immediately at 4.38 pm I took this issue with your toll free no.111 where your executive Anjali Srivastava took the call. To my surprise she told me that her system is showing my request for caller tunes and so it has been activated. She also advised me that it can be deactivated by sending SMS CAN CT at 111. I followed her advice and at 4.53 pm sent the desired SMS at 111. Immediately at 4.54 pm I received a SMS from Vodafone that they have received my request and the services will be deactivated with in a maximum period of 5 hrs. This followed another SMS at same time conveying ““Your request for Caller Tunes services has been registered”.

Almost at the same time I once again received SMS stating, “You have successfully deactivated the Caller tunes service. To activate again, send ACT CT to 56789.

To my shock, at 6.03 pm I once again received SMS from the Vodafone stating that they have happily activated my caller tunes service on my Vodafone no. and advised me to send SMS CAN CT to deactivate the service. At around 9.30 pm I took this issue with your toll free no. 111 where the floor manager Mr. Sachin told me that the system is showing the services deactivated and advised me to wait for 5 hrs. This all has happened on 23.9.2009. The services are still on.

To add to my agony, despite your assurance vide e-mail dated 24.9.2009 that you have deactivated the Caller tune service from my Vodafone number on 24/09/09 as per my request and assured that no monthly rental will be charged for the same, my current bill is showing Rs.60/- as caller tune charges.

It is really disgusting and frustrating that in a day without my request the caller tune service has been twice activated. Can’t this frustration be removed by giving some standing instruction for my no. from your end? If your CEO/MD needs some donation for their livelihood we can do it voluntarily & generously, you need not to cheat poor people like this. But certainly cheating poor customers this way is not called for when a company is making tons of money. I am really disturbed, please help me for God sake.
