Dear Sir / Mam,

First of all I would like to brief you my and my family’s association with your esteemed bank.

I believe the above lines hold enough mettle to prove my association with ICICI. I am dealing with ICICI bank since last 6-7 years I believe. These details are necessary to give you a clear picture.

I had a bitter, insulting, and humiliating experience today (i.e. 6th May’ 2008) at ICICI Bank Ltd., 9-10 Express Building, Bahadurshah Zafar Marg, New Delhi - 110002. I had a Cheque No. 004542 of ICICI Bank of Mr. TAIG BAHADOUR of the same branch i.e. ICICI Bank Ltd., 9-10 Express Building, Bahadurshah Zafar Marg. I wanted to get it credited to my ICICI SAVING BANK ACCOUNT NO: 000 701 514 761. I went to the above mentioned branch at around 1700 hrs Dt. 06th May’ 2008.

I took the request token CW-213 and filled the deposit slip. Scanned copies of the request token CW-213 and deposit slip are attached hereby.

When my turn came according to the monitor there I went to the ICICI Bank executive sitting at Counter No. 3. I asked that person (who was wearing specs) that how long would the procedure of crediting my account balance with the amount mentioned i.e. Rs. 38, 800 on the Cheque 004542 will take. He humbly replied that it would take around 30 mins and asked me to handover the deposit slip and cheque to the ICICI Bank executive sitting at Counter No. 4.

Thirty mins was fine with me but again to be on a safer side I confirmed the same thing from the executive sitting there at Counter No. 4 that how much time will be taken in processing my request. The person replied me that it would take 3 days to process this request. I shockingly again asked him to please confirm as I was very clear that this duration is not at all true. He didn’t bother about that and started laughing at me and told, “Time to itna hi lagta hai humare yahan”. Even the executive sitting at Counter No. 3 told him, “galat kyun bata rahe ho, 30 mins mein ho jayega”. I again requested him to please confirm and process my request soon as I needed the money urgently. But nothing had an impact on him. I had come all the way from R.K. Puram to Bahadurshah Zafar Marg for clearance of the cheque as suggested to me by Shanti Niketan ICICI Branch (near Moti Bagh).

I repeatedly told him that don’t lie to me, and please process my request. Suddenly, the executive sitting at Counter No. 5 started shouting at me in front of everyone, that if I will argue like this he will not let anyone process my request. I told him the root cause of the argument but he too was rigid and again started shouting at me and told, “yahan yeh cheque nai clear hoga, jo karna hai kar le”. Finally, I had to go to the Branch Manager of the Bahadurshah Zafar Marg branch to my rescue. She intervened, and asked the executive sitting at Counter No. 5 to process my request. But to my shock this man told her conveyed that I was arguing and using abusive language, and therefore I was denied for the same. I would like to bring to your notice that I come from a decent family and I did not utter a single foul word there in branch. Why would I argue if everything is falling at right place? This executive sitting at Counter No. 5 was Branch Operations Manager as written on the plate hanging there. The Branch Manager of the Bahadurshah Zafar Marg Branch helped me to credit the cheque 004542 to my account But even though I asked her many times the names of executives sitting at Counter No. 4 and 5, she bluntly refused.

I just want to ask, should I be denied the names of the ICICI Bank executives who are misbehaving with me from the Branch Manager. Whom should I approach if the Bank Manager has this kind of attitude?

I would like to bring to your notice that I urgently needed the money today (06th May’ 2008) itself as I had to make some advance payment for the Floor I am purchasing in Ghaziabad. I even require home loan of around Rs. 25 Lacs for this flat, But now I am not at all in a mood to consider ICICI Bank for this purpose. Immediately after this incident, I took Rs. 25000 from my account no. 000 701 514 761 and rushed to Ghaziabad.

After coming out of the branch, I made a call to Customer Care at 9818178000 around 1730 hrs Dt. 06th May’ 08 from my mobile no. 9717496561, but couldn’t succeed as the call dropped due to network problem. You can verify this from your IVR data. Anyhow, I made a call again at 9818178000 around 2115 hrs Dt. 06th May’ 08 and spoke to Customer Care executive Mr. Dinesh Mishra. I have got the complaint number 65324949. He told me that the name of the Branch Manager of the Bahadurshah Zafar Marg Branch is Kanwalpreet Sodhi.

In virtue of this incident, I am thinking to transfer my balance of Home Loan also to some other Bank who can at least deal with their customers well. I will do this balance transfer by this month positively. Moreover, I am very sorry to say neither me nor my family members will be involved in any dealing with ICICI bank in future. There are number of banks available. I only chose ICICI bank because of its customer satisfaction standards, but sorry to say I am really disappointed. I have given full details of my ICICI bank credentials to show that I was always loyal to bank.

I demand an apology letter from the executives sitting (in the evening hours) at counter no. 4 and 5 of ICICI Bank Ltd., 9-10 Express Building, Bahadurshah Zafar Marg, New Delhi – 110002. Also some strong actions must be taken against these executives. You can easily get the exact time when they were sitting on the counters 4 & 5 by the timestamp, when Rs. 38, 800 was credited to my account. I guess it was 1700 hrs Dt.. 06th May’ 08.
