Mistake in PAN card

Sir,

i would like to draw your kind attn. that few days ago I apllied for a PAN card in my Daughter's name (she is minor) and accordingly the IT Deptt. issued it. But surprisingly the surname of her father (me) has been missprinted on the card. Not only that the Date of Birth of my daughter has been printed as 29.01.2003 in stead of 29.10.2003. Lots of mails and reminder has been sent to the concern department but they are saying to apply in the form for correction alongwith a charge.

But my qestion is that the mistkes has been done at IT Deptt. part only. The photo copy of birth certificate of my daughter were also enclosed alongwith my first application then why should i pay the charge of a new PAN card?

Kindly look into the matter please.
