Dear Sir, This is a complaint against the Collection Staff OF Mumbai Central who checks the ticket and issues receipt against the persons travelling without valid ticket in the reserved compartment. I had got my Train Ticket in the name - VIJAY, Age - 40, Ticket Booked from Mumbai on 23/2 at 13:24 Hrs by one of my colleagues for me to avoid last minute rush and ensure hassle free journey Bearing No.25508725 PNR NO 846 - 2381187 Date of Journey - 24/5/10, Train No. 2903 - Train Name - Golden Temple Mail boarding from Mumbai Central to H Nizamuddin. This horrifying incident starts on 24th May 10 when the Train had started from Mumbai Central and I was travelling in Train Compartment - S - 3, Post getting my Travel Ticket confirmed and tallied with the RESERVATION CHART being pasted on the Coach, I took my Berth, but to my utter surprise one gentlemen who claimed to be from Vigilance Department asked for my Ticket, I accordingly showed him my Ticket but as soon as the gentlemen took the ticket he started pushing me from the compartment to other compartment in moving train, time and again when i asked what the matter was, he threatened me with dire consequences and pushed me in front of many passengers of S-3, till the time we entered the PANTRY COACH of the Train, the Pantry Staff was also present at that time, he directed them to vacate the Coupe of Pantry Car where he asked them to slide the door and locked the same from inside and asked from where the ticket was booked, when I told him to go thru the details mentioned in the ticket he started raising his voice to his top and told that he will take me out of train and board off at Borivali Station and put me behind bars for 3 Years when I asked for what he told me to confess that the Ticket was a bogus ticket and I had purchased from the station just minutes before boarding, when i denied the same he even slapped me, while i was speaking to my brother in Delhi on mobile updating about the horrifying the incident including the threat to put me behind bars for 3 Yrs and also told me to tell my brother that the I had purchased the bogus ticket and boarded the train, when I requested and told him that it was booked for me, he threatened me with consequences of even throwing me out of train, looking at the gravity of situation and my urgency to reach delhi, I requested him to kindly allow me to go to delhi as it was valid ticket, he told he would do so only when I paid him Rs.1800/-, i told him I do not have so much money, he told then be prepared to go to jail, i spoke to my brother asking him to transfer - to my account urgently as I will have to give the money to him to release myself from his clutches at Borivali station, to which he told I have to arrange the money in the train itself and not at the the Borivali Station, I showed him my purse it had contained only 4 Notes of Rs100/-, One Note of Rs.20/- and One note of Rs.10/- apart from gillet Rs.2, 5 and 1. He snatced Rs.400/- from my purse and threw my purse and the Ticket on the floor of the Coupe and told me to ring some one in Mumbai to give him balance Rs.1400/- to which I agreed as I was in utter shock at the behaviour of his and the balance money was to be handed over to him at borivali station by my office staff peon who must have arrived and handed over the same to him as he did not reveal his identity and nor did he disclose his name only by his physique I had to explain for balance money, he opened the door of the Coupe and told now I can go to my seat once his entire team has boarded off at Borivali Station and if i went to my seat prior to that then he would not be responsible if his other team members also caught me. When the same ticket was being asked by the REGULAR TT of the Train he verified all the details and handed over my ticket as being done for other passengers without any fuss.
I want to know is this the way to treat some one by illegally detaining a person in moving train taht too in the Pantry Car, to which the witnesses were the pantry car staff and the Vendor also. when asked for proof of identity being slapped and threatened with consequences including putting behind bars. I want th is matter to be investigated and my money be refunded of RS.1800/- be refunded to me by way of chq/dd else, I shall have no option but to go ahead with claiming damages to my reputation in front of my staff at Mumbai, mental harrassment and agony which I suffered and tried my level best to forget which I could not do so even today and had forced me to register the complaint safely rather than registering at the Railway Station itself. If required the Train Ticket can also be submitted as part of proof and the incident canalso be checked with the PANTRY CAR STAFF.
Later on when the said staff got down at Borivali station and the train crossed the Maharastra, I told about the entire incident to the TT on board, he told that they made fool out of me and had taken the money from me for just nothing.
