Respected Sir,
I am a native of Vriddhachalam, Tamilnadu working in Pondicherry. I got a Transfer of my Indane Gas cylinder to Indira Indane Service, 8. Jawahar Nagar, Pondicherry before 9 Months.
Since Im the only person residing in my home and I cook only for one single person (myself), the consumption of gas is low and the cylinder got exhausted only after 8 months, i.e., on 2/4/08.
When I tried to book a new cylinder, they asked me to produce a letter stating the explanation for delayed booking. When I submitted the letter, they said a mechanic would be sent for a check on the next day. He never came the next day. So I again approached them for the mechanic to be sent immediately.
The mechanic was sent on 5/4/08 and when I asked them to book for my cylinder, The manager's PA asked me to buy a tube for Rs 160/-(the tube connecting the cylinder and stove). I bought it and again she said the cylinder would be booked on 7/4/08 since the next day 6/4/08 was a sunday.
Once again I made a call on 8/4/08 to confirm the booking and they again said they had booked only on that day and that I would have to wait for 1 more week. Now they insist that I should produce Pondy Ration card though I have produced Tamil Nadu Ration card. Already I have been suffering for past one week without Home meals and the hotel food is alergic to me.
Is it my fault that the cylinder got exhausted after 8 months? Is it right to torture on consumers like this? What sort of a customer service is this? I am at the height of irritation and I wish that I could go for consumer court. My husband has stopped me from doing so. Can you please step in and look into the matter? Can you make arrangements for immediate supply of gas cylinder?
Need your earliest action,
yours sincerely,
B.Thulasi Brindha
