Jyothi home enterprises indane distributor at Basavakalyan Bidar Karnataka
Non issue of LPG Card, Double Cylinde

Dear Sir,

I am a serving soldier posted in an operational area. My wife who is residing at Chitguppa Village in Bidar District had obtained a domestic LPG connection from Jyothi Home Services located at Basavakalyan way back in 2006.

I am sure you are aware, Bidar is one of the most backward district of Karnataka. In this district there are very few LPG distributors. Chitguppa has now been made a Taluk. Even now there is no LPG distributor around the area. However there are some private agencies who provide LPG services at exhorbitant rates. The residents of this area are therefore compelled to obtain a connection from Jyothi enterprises which is located at Basavakalyan or purchase cylinders at almost 500 to 700 Rupees per refil. I therefore request you to kindly initiate the process of providing an LPG distributor to this taluk.

Now specifically comming to my complaint. Ever since Jyothi Enterprises has had a kind of sub agency which is totally unofficial at chitguppa. This sub agency is catering to the needs of the residents of this area unofficially and also charging very high rates per cylinder. On asking him why no cash memo is being given with the cylinder he thretens to withdraw the connection. The mandatory norms of displaying the distributors, area managers particulars is not being adhered to. People therefore for fear of disconnection generally succumb to his whims and fancies. I think this is a highly irregular practice which needs to cease forthwith through your kind intervention immidiately. He has also not issued the Domestic Gas Customer Card which is mandatory.

On approaching him for the second cylinder for the past two years he always says that no DBC connections are being given out which I believe is not true absolutely.

Chitguppa being slightly remote and in the absence of a distributor there people usually fall in line with the whims and fancies of of Manager of Jyothi Enterprises and him men located at Chiguppa.

In view of the above you are requested to kindly initiate necessary correction measures to curtail the malpractices of this distributor which would ensure the smooth supply of LPG to the residents of this area without having to dance to the tunes of such corrupt distributors.
