I had approached Karunya Women's Association at trivandrum for domestic help on 25 May 09. I was told to pay an amount of Rs 3000 as Deposit and Rs 600 towards registration which i had paid on the same day.
The owner of the association Mrs Latha Francis had promised me to arrange a housemaid by 01 Jun 09 and their agency is reliable and dependable.
The agency has failed to send me any maid as promised on 01 June 09. After numerous phonecalls, Mrs Latha Francis sent an old woman who was more than 60 yrs of age when i had specifially asked for a middle aged woman. Even the old lady never turned up even for a single days work.
I had tried to talk to Mrs Latha Francis on numerous occassions and explained my hardships as a working woman and requested her to arrange domestic help at the earliest. But she never paid heed to my requests.
On 22 Jun 09, i had visited her office alongwith my husband and asked her the reasons for not sending a domestic help as promised. She immediately brought a woman and told us that the woman would work in our house. When i had asked to see the character verification she refused to give any details regarding the woman.
It is not understood how she expects me to trust a woman with my entire household without knowing her character and antecedants. When i started asking for character proof, the said woman immediately was reluctant to work with me and this gave me suspicion.
As Mrs Latha Francis refused to show any documents proving the charcter verification and antecedants and also has failed to provide services long after the due date, i requested her to pay me back my money of Rs 3, 600 which i had paid as advance and registration.
She had refused to pay me the sum and told that she will pay only Rs 3000 that too in the next month and she spoke in a very disrespectful way to me.
Due to the lack of services of Karunya Womens Association, i had to face terrible hardships managing my household and a responsible job of a doctor.
I seek your kind guidance in processing the case and providing me with suitable relief and also teach a lesson to the agency for their lacklusture attitude and approach towards customers. This act, i believe would deter the agency from exhibiting such irresponsible behaviour towards other customers in future.
