International SMS Airtel

I am lodging this complaint on behalf of my father who is based in India. He has a Airtel number for life time prepaid connection. Each time that he sends a SMS to me (I am in Germany), I get it but each time I send in a SMS he does not get it. On the other hand, when I send SMS to my mother who also holds an Airtel number, she gets it. Nothing is wrong with the phone set and Airtel customer care is not ready to help. Please suggest a way!
