I purchased a leather bag model No.70369 costing Rs.1199/- on 19.05.2006 from Connaught Place, New Delhi showroom of M/s Sreeleathers. Within five months of the purchase of the bag its number lock jammed with all my documents inside the bag. I somehow to managed to remove the papers from inside the locked bag. The bag was taken to the aforesaid showroom sometimes in Oct' 06 where I was asked to come after a month as the bag would have to be sent to Kolkata for repairs. I received the bag after a month with the same lock. The number lock again jammed in Jan' 07 and it was deposited in the same showroom on 20.01.2007 for repairs and I was advised to come on 03.03.2007. I requested the manager in the showroom to change the defective lock with another one. But I was returned the bag with the same problematic lock. The said lock once again developed the same problem and was taken to the showroom on 05.10.2007 and this time I was told that Rs.150/- would be charged towards repair. I received the bag on 13.11.2007 after paying Rs.150/- under protest. At this I was told to either pay or walk off without the bag.
Unfortunately, deposit spending Rs.150/- on repairs and 132 (approx.) days of time taken in repairs by their service system, the lock again jammed in 02 and the bag was once again deposited with the showroom on 25.02.2008 for rectification of the defective lock. The job sheet was prepared by the Manager himself to whom I narrated my grievances. The delivery date was mentioned as 25.03.2008. On visiting the showroom on 27.03.2008 for taking delivery of the bag the attending sales executive Mr. Jitender, the bag was not yet ready for delivery and would take another 2-5 days. I met the Manager who indifferently to my plight, told me to check after two days.
From the above facts it is obvious that Sreeleathers fault repair system is far from satisfactory, the workmanship unprofessional. Delivery and service commitment are deplorable. I have not been able to use the bag properly after purchasing the same as the bag lay in Sreeleathers' repair centre for almost 162 days. Besides, I had to face lot of inconvenience in running around the outlets / showroom and now I feel harassed and fed up.
