Terrible service in Le Royal Meridien Mumbai

I booked in to Le Royal Meridien Mumbai over the internet through the Starwood website.

I booked a deluxe room with guaranteed pool/garden view.

When I arrived I was given a standard room with a view of another building.

When I complained about this to the concierge who gave me the room, she laughed and said that a deluxe room was unavailable.

At the time of checking out, the hotel tried to charge me for a deluxe room, and then when I complained that I was not given a deluxe room the manager said that she was not authorised to change the rate of the room.

She sent me a credit charge document later and my credit card was charged in US$ rather than INR or AUS$. I lost $10 due to the incorrect charge in US$.

Further the food was extremely expensive and not very good quality (a number of dishes in the buffet dinner tasted like they were tainted with some kind of chemical).

The hotel was not what I was expecting from a 5 star hotel, and the room was not even in excellent condition. But my main complaint is with the service from the front desk. I will never stay in any Le Meridien hotel again.
