Reliance Post-Paid. Not working

I bought this phone at the Reliance center, Galleria Mkt, DLF Ph-4, Gurgaon this afternoon (28/5) and followed all instructions diligently. I was asuured by the salesman Mr. Lokesh that the phone will start working for making local calls by this evening, and for STD calls by tommorow afternoon. It is now 9:00 Pm and the phone shows an error " Programming Unsuccessful". Reliance Customer Care (Ph # 303333330) say this number is not yet re-allocated as per their records. What do I do?
