Inordinate delay in opening of demat a/c

1. Tele caller from the bank had followed up for quite some time & sent Biswajit Roy (UNB branch) who collected the completed documents on 22.12.07.

2. After follow up with Biswajit, savings account opened at UNB branch and kit along with letter dated 10.01.08 received on 11.01.08.

3. Thereafter followed up several times but demat a/c was not opened. Finally after feeling frustrated, my husband (Gautam Chanda) met Ms. Kavita Jain, Branch Manager, UNB branch on 06.02.08. She did not show any urgency and was trying to find fault in my application. She was trying to convey the rules & regulation wherein the delay has been extraordinary. My husband has 2 more accounts in that branch including the salary account and was very astonished by the poor attitude of the Branch Manager. Finally she conveyed that if nothing happens by 07.02.08, I can close my account and withdraw the amount in the savings account. She never called up as committed & instead Biswajit Roy in a casual style tried to speak to my husband.

My husband & myself are very disappointed with the attitude of the branch manager who does not have the courtesy to call up a person who has visited her branch & and wasted much time.

I want a clarification for the delay and the pathetic attitude. If it is acceptable, then I continue with the account or else, please inform the procedure so that all the accounts including that of husband can be closed immediately. Hope to get the reply immedaitely, otherwise it would be another casual approach and not caring for the customer.
