LPG cylinder - delayed delivery
Delayed delivery of LPG refill thereby payment of hiked rates

First of all this is not to be taken as a complaint. This is to inform the browser as to how a consumer is compelled to pay the hiked price of LPG refill, when the scheduled delivery date is not adhered to, by the Indane distributor.

I have a gas connection with the IOC (Indane) distributor M/s. Tass Gas Agency, Chrompet, Chennai. I had booked for a refill on 14.6.2011. The scheduled date of delivery printed on the bill is 23.6.11. The actual delivery was effected on 29.6.11 and hence the increased rate of Rs.404 for the refill was collected from me. Had the scheduled delivery date been adhered to, the extra expenditure could have been avoided. I would like to mention that the dealers probably and purposely delay the scheduled supplies to reap their extra fringe benefits, when the price increase of the product is in the anvil. The printed bill also does not carry clear marking of the increased rates. A faint rubber stamp mark is made on the bill for the increased rate. Actual printed rate of the cylinder is Rs. 352, which is prior to the revised rates.

It is not understood why the distributor prepared the bill prior to revision of rates and the actual delivery of the cylinder effected later, thereby the consumer had to pay the hiked rates.
