Automatic shift of control to next tab while entering gmail user id

I suffer a very peculier issue while log on to gmail. most of the time when I type user name like may.billu

the system automatically shifts the control to password just after I write may only as user name. i.e before I press tab it shifts automatically to password screen. I am really very frustrated of this and don't know what have I done wrong.
