On 6th September I have taken my vehicle to Poddar Car World Pvt Ltd, Guwahati, Assam [one of the authorised service centre of Maruti] for paid servicing. Job No: was 0030417.
My car was having a golden locket hanged in my rear mirror as a mark of respect to Allah. The locket was having the famous word "Alah-hu" in scripted on it. As usual like other vehicles we all put something or the other on the rear mirror for show or respect to almighty GOD. I don't feel to take it off when entering the vehicle to workshop.
But when I take the delivery and reached home I found it was not available. Monday morning I called Ms Sanchita-Customer Manager and informed her and asked her to enquire about it and call me back. But she has not called up and some other executive has called me back that it is not traceable. A lame excuse and could not even trace it who has done it because M/s Poddar Car has no systematic process on attending the vehicles. A very adhoc system they adopt for attending the various calls of a particular vehicle. I have categorically asked Mr Kishore [the executive who has attended my vehicle] to change my front left wheel with an old wheel, but not attend to. The cleaning is all rubbish, every time the cleaning is making the vehicle dirtier. If we complaint they buy us by giving us a free washing one more time. Every time they enquire if someone has called me up from Maruti Centre. This indicates that they are not sincere in services or worried about the type of services they provide to customers.
In context to the theft case I am not at all satisfied and I will take legal help if required. The cost of the item is not the issue but the bigger issue is why should any of the Podar engineers should touch it and on what capacity he has removed the same from my car and even the authorities are not aware of the same. The workshop supervisor/in charge might not have even dare to check whether their employees are busy in scheduled works or also doing some mischievous. If such incident can happen then mischief at any level can also happen, even with the Maruti Genuine parts of a car and fixing it with some open market spares carried along by the engineers/technicians.
I would request the appropriate authority from Maruti should study the above case and come out with some solutions and also have a surprise visit to the unit as a customer and look after how the unit functions.
