Maruti True Value, Marketing Times Automobiles (P) Ltd, Okhla Phase 2
Car RC not transferred even after more than 5 months

This is in response to the harassment I have been made to bear from the time I bought a car from Maruti Suzuki ‘True Value’ shop. ‘True Value’ which claims of 100% customer satisfaction and boasts of winning several awards is actually exactly opposite in reality. Whatever I have written and am going to write is based on my personal experience and want to share with others who are thinking of approaching ‘True Value’ in the disbelief that it will provide them service with 100% right product and transparency.

It was in the last week of Jan-09 that I visited one exhibition arranged for sale/purchaser of ‘Old cars’ along with my friend. There I met Mr. Raj Kumar and Mr. Brajesh who were working there as agents of ‘Marketing Times’ dealer. I finally decided to go for a Maruti Wagon-R model. During price negotiation, they told me that they’ll provide extra Gear lock system along with the car. Also they promised me that they’ll transfer the car Registration certification (RC) on my name within a month of doing the complete payment. Finally price was settled at some 20-25k higher than market price which was well known to me. But still I decided to go by the name of ‘True Value’ trusting that I won’t be cheated. Later on, I came to know through one of their colleague only (whose name I don’t want to disclose here) that Gear lock was already included in the price of the car. On mentioning the same before them, their faces suddenly changed. Finally they agreed to provide me either seat covers or wheel cover in the settled amount. From that very moment, somewhere I doubted their honesty. But in the happiness of owing my first car which is a big dream coming true, I ignored that incident. Finally I paid them the token amount.

On 2nd Feb I made about 85% payment to Mr. Brajesh by cheque. He promised me at that time that I can take the delivery of car any day on doing the full payment. Thereafter after receiving the substantial money in advance, his attitude totally got changed. Whenever I called him, either he didn’t pick up the phone or told that he was busy and will call me back. But as expected, he never called me back. One day after insisting, he told me to come to ‘Marketing times’ workshop located at Okhla Industrial area to take the delivery of car in the evening. But when I reached there, he told me that workshop gets closed in the evening and asked me to come some other day. On 8th Feb I decided that I’ll take delivery of car anyhow and called him. Finally he asked me to come over there within an hour. Knowing that he may change again anytime, I managed to reach there somehow within time. Again there he tried to rose some issues regarding payment and other car accessories which he promised earlier, but thanks to God, I had everything in written and payment was done by cheque only. On asking about transfer of RC, he told me that it’ll be surely done within a month period. Finally I got keys of my first car. But didn’t know that it was not the end of torture. On reaching home, the company driver who dropped me upto home told that he should have given me two keys of the car instead of one. I called him back for another keys. He asked me to again come to Okhla to collect the same. Hmm…didn’t know whether God was testing my patience. Finally, I again reached ‘Marketing Times’ office after few days and got my car keys. On asking about RC, he told that earlier he forgot to take my signature on all the papers. Hence it will take some more time. Thereafter numerous times I would have called him. Either he didn’t attend the call or gave me false promises. Then on one day, he told me that he has left his job from ‘Marketing times’ and cann’t do anything now. On requesting him constantly to help me out, he asked me to call Mr. Raj Kumar. Hoping that situation would get somewhat better now, I called Mr. Raj Kumar and explained him the whole incidence. He assured me that he’ll get RC transferred within a month time. But perhaps I made the same mistake of trusting him now. Everytime on calling him, he kept giving me endless excuses. That day and now, I am still waiting for my RC.

Perhaps this is only a small example. Don’t know how many other innocent customers would be blindly trusting the name ‘True Value’ and finally getting cheated. This is a request to all those senior personals of the company to open their eyes and realize that by advertisement only, you cann’t win the hearts of customers. If you really want to be a market leader, you’ll have to prove whatever you promise.
