See how blindfolded the law makers are in this part of the world. I live in Bhopal (the place where union carbide killing gas leak took place about 25 years back) Madhya Pradesh, India. We live in a colony which is more like a ghetto because the law makers are blind folded. Now these blind folded law makers have passed a law that smoking is banned in public place because the smoke from cigarettes is injurious to health. OK Great! Now the standards of this blind kingdom have become at par with those of developed countries and the blindfolded lawmakers can sure mimic like monkeys where passing such laws are concerned.
Now the real state of facts is there is no garbage disposal systems in the cities. All the empty spaces in the colonies are littered with polythene, paper and other packaging wastes including the wastes from houses. Pigs are loitering in the waste and dogs are attacking the litter of pigs and making a kill and the bunch of dogs feasting on pig's litter on the roads. Also animals, cows trying to tongue through the polythenes containing house hold waste and in process. This goes on the whole days while the humans go by their daily chores.
Comes the morning, while the air is fresh from the grace of the god, the many municipal workmen-women arrive at the scene for cleaning. They start sweeping the trash en-masse into small heaps. Their work in the block is over within minutes and soon they start lighting their bidis (country cigarettes in India). Holy cow! Now what are they doing. They are selling fire to heaps of trash within the houses. Soon the gases and smoke from the plastic containing trash forms black columns of smoke. The smoke enters the houses and lingers within the whole day turning the rooms of the houses in gas chambers. Progressing to slow death much worse that cigarette smoke, packaging smoke is poisonous and is at par with gas chamber gases.
Do not think we have no law of the land. The chief minister has a special website and department to look at public grievances, which the government boasts of. If they allow writing of complaints in English they sure will receive a lot complaints. When I wrote to them the blindfolded official wrote back that my complaint does not deserve any action. Thrown in the trash and burnt! They are so hypocritic. They already have laws about municiple waste disposal but these goverment official could not care less.
I bet that if domestic waste is burned like the way it is done the developed countries can forget about all the treaties to keep the air clear. Once in the atmosphere the massage from trash will travel the world.
I think it is the culture of the people and nation to blame. They are rotten to the core. They will never learn. They are so hypocritical. They bring the average intelligence of the world a way down. I am condemned to live with them and in this ghetto until I die.
While I am writing this do not think I live in a hut or a shanty town. My house is a four storey villa among the colony of apartments and other independent houses. May god be with less fortunate.
