I regret to say that one desktop PC (Compaq Presario, SR No. INA846027L) was purchased from HP authorized dealer M/S Krishna Agencies Pvt. Ltd., Boring Road, Patna vide invoice number R46006/08-09 dated March 30. It is quite shocking that the monitor of a branded make like HP has gone out of order within Three months from the date of purchase. As the desktop PC is very much within warranty period & hence it is obligatory on part of company to replace the monitor at their cost.
In the 1st week of July, vertical lines appeared on the monitor and the problem was reported to the dealer. After few days, dealers representative (Mr. Ajay) came but he was unable to fix the problem and assured that he will take up the problem with HP service centre for monitor replacement. However, no action was taken for one week. Then after repeated follow up, HP representative (Mr. Shashi) visited came, who after checking the monitor, gave his learned opinion that the monitor was mal handled (as per him, the screen was pressed by finger or any object for long time that’s why this problem arose) & it will not come under warranty. It is beyond my understanding that why a mentally sound person will press the screen without any reason.
Most importantly the problems of vertical lines and cloud didn’t appear simultaneously but the problem started with very thin vertical lines, which gradually turned into bands, and then also dark clouds appeared.
This is most unfortunate that an esteemed global company like HP is showing such an irresponsible attitude & trying to cover up the manufacturing defect by saying that the set has been mal handled.
Now, only ray of hope for me is Pehredar, as I am really frustrated for I am not getting any response either from dealer or from HP.
