The traffic signal at Lucky Hotel Bandra (West) is a hub of activity at the best of times as it is full of people at various hours of the day. Yet the timing of the traffic signal times
aren t the greatest and I have found it to be a major grouse. I would like to bring to light 2 issues the gravity of which deserves some consideration & definitely remedial measures.
(*) The timing of the traffic signal which is a four way thoroughfare really puts off both pedestrians & drivers alike. Whereas the timings for those commuting from Bandra to Andheri on SV Road (Up) or those that are proceeding towards town/city it is perfect, for those going towards the station or Hill Road, it is a nightmare. From my estimates a wait to cross the signal between 8~10pm in the evening takes a minimum of 10 minutes on average whereas the traffic is open for those going back & forth along SV Road for that length of time. On the other hand the signal for Bandra citizens will be on for a maximum of 3-4 minutes not more for vehicular traffic to pass. Adding to the problems are the fact are a few things namely < Numerous buses, MCB Trucks pass this way obstructing most of the space for vehicles to pass or they crowd out everyone else> ;
