People Be Aware when you are Shopping in Srinagar, and when shopkeepers tell you we will send your goods to your house, home delivery, dont get cheated, they send the goods to your house and you will only have to pay the courier charges for those goods. They at their shop tell you, you dont need to pay anything other than the DD of the required amount, but finally you land up paying for the courier charges also. So Be Aware.

We were 2 families who purchased 2 Bed Room Sets (One family) and 1 Bed room set and 1 Wall Hanging Mattress (Second family) at Rs. 3, 200 and Rs. 2, 000 respectively. The Shopkeeper of New Kashmir Silken and Woolen Mills, from Srinagar said that we could pay around 40% of the amount and the rest we can pay after the items reach Mumbai. He said we only had to pay the rest remaining amount by DD payable at Srinagar. No additional charges were told to us. We paid Rs. 1, 200 and Rs 1, 000 as advance (40%) to the shopkeeper. But when we received the parcels at our residence in Mumbai on June 16, we were shocked to hear that the shopkeeper from Srinagar had instructed the Courier Company, First Flight at Srinagar to collect the courier Expenses of Rs. 325 and Rs. 225 from us in addition to the DDs. The courier expenses were never told to us. This is not the case with us only. Kindly check with First Flight at Airoli, Phone No. 022-27695668 or 27605381. If you check with First Flight, they would provide you more information about tourists who had been to srinagar being cheated about on purchasing things in Srinagar and finally landed up to pay the courier charges also which the shopkeepers never told to the people. If you want I have the receipts of purchase, the receipt from First Flight, etc. I fail to understand How a Courier Company, without collecting the charges, sends the courier ahead to the destination and then collects it from the Destination Person, though we had never given anything in writing to the Shopkeeper saying the we would pay the courier charges. With the shopkeeper, the First Flight courier company at Srinagar from where this parcel is sent should be punished for doing such acts. Kashmir gets its income from Tourists, if people from Kashmir start cheating tourists, then I think the time is not far, people would stop believing them and stop visiting Kashmir. We had to pay the courier company, Rs. 325 and Rs. 225 respectively for the parcel, as we could not return the parcel back, because we had already paid Rs. 1, 200 and Rs.1, 000 in advance and the DD which we had made is a non-negotiable or non-returnable instrument. Would like to get back our courier amount spent and strict actions must be taken against such courier companies and the shopkeepers in Srinagar.
