I worked in New Netaji Institute of Technology and Sciences, Toopranpet, Chout Uppal Mandal, Nalgonda District from October to Nov as Assistant Professor of English. I have 24 years of teaching experience. I am an M.A (Madras-1983), M.Phil (Anna University, Chennai-1985). I am doing my Ph D through Nagarjuna University. I gave 99% pass percentage in English for the sections I dealt with. I have made a mark of my own wherever I worked. In this college too all admire me for my sincerity, hard work, dedication and intellect. All on a sudden they terminated me from services without prior notice. They did not pay me the remuneration for lab exams conducted in June.
In NNIT and MIE there is no proper infra structure. There is no generator or internet access. They are running two colleges-Netaji Institute of Engineering Technlogy (NIET) and New Netaji Institute of Technology and Sciences (NNIT) with the inadequate amenities provided in one college. There is one ELCS Lab only for both colleges that too with 30 systems- in NNIT. The lecturers are paid cash towards their salary in order to manipulate false records. I was paid only 20, 800 Rs, though it was shown on records as 31, 000 Rs per month. They are notissuing appoint orders to the staff members. The college is run like a tuition centre. There is no respect for intellectuals there.
The Principal of NIET, Dr Nagesh is acting as the Principal for both colleges. Mr Nagesh is a man of rude behaviour and harsh language. He patronises one group of non meritorious faculty members and ill treats meritorious candidates. When I, a lady of 24 yrs of teaching experience and recipient of Govt of India National Merit Scholarship for my M.A. study from 1981-83, went and told him that I registered for Ph. D, instead of congratulating me, he insulted me by asking "can anyone and everyone register for PhD like that? ". Not only this, at every juncture he created a problem for me. As a lady faculty in the English Department was his friend and she lost her job due to her inefficiency, he took me to task for it. He has been using second rate methods to find out details about my personal life. I tolerated all this as I am a true student of literature and know how to tolerate evil and how to respect people in authority.
There is no qualified Principal in NNIT. At present Mr Appaji who is not a Ph. D is acting as Principal whereas all the official work is done by Mr Nagesh.
Along with me a set of 7 more lecturers are on the hit list they showed me yesterday (5-11). If this continues how can lecturers feel secure about their job and concentrate on their job? I request the authorities to enquire into the matter thoroughly and protect the rights of the staff and save the sanctity and dignity of the University. I am ready to go to any extant and take all the concerned members in this affair to task by proceeding to court. I am more concerned about the welfare of the students and the job security of the lecturers than my personal grievances. Already the standard of education has fallen down due to the malpractices of the Managements of engineering colleges. It is high time we had some introspection and coordination.
I shall furnish any proof for the above stated affairs if required by the authorities.
This college is not the only one of this type. Many other colleges are indulging in this type of atrocities. They have a group of colleges under their management.
