Illegal penalty

Dear Sir,

I have reserved two tickets from Trichirappalli to Madras Egmore (TPJ to MS) on 17th Feb. 2009 in Train No. 2664 (Trichy Howrah Express). My PNR Ref. 4204917255.

The allotted seats are 79 and 81 in the coach S2, where as the total capacity of your allotted coach is only 72. (Your coach reference no: WGSCN 01250). I have got the train at the last minute, and I have shocked on this issue.

Then, I have approached your TTE, Mr. Kutty Krishnan to solve this issue, but he was very casual and not have properly responded my query and gone somewhere. When I entered in the next coach to approach him, he was discussing with his colleques. Again and again I have approached him to allot the seat as early as possible because of my Aged Mother.

Then He came back to me and asked my Proof of ID. I have given my Original Voter ID. But he said it was the Xerox copy and he has not accepted it and taken me to the Squads travelled on that train. They have also supported to the TTE and they have asked me to pay Rs.1094 as penalty otherwise he asked us to get down at the next station. So I collected the amount from my co passenger and paid the said penalty.

I have argued with them for a long time, but they have not accepted my words and fined me the said amount. The Squad also said, “IT WILL COST JUST 50 RUPEES TO MAKE DUPLICATE OF ANY ORIGINAL”.

My Question is, 1. How can I believe your payment receipt whether it is original

or duplicate?

2. Whether it is a live one or expired Document?

3. You have fined for the ticket less travel. Then, who will return

back my Paid amount through Internet (IRCTC Portal)

4. Why there was no Serial maintained on your payment Receipt

(Your Receipt Nos. 136641 & 275405 dt.17.02.09).

5. How did you allotted the Seat No, more the capacity?

6. Why you have not allotted any birth even after I have paid you

the penalty of Rs. 1094/- excluding my paid amount through net?

On considering my aged mothers position only, I have paid the penalty and was no other go.

PLEASE NOTE THAT MANY PASSENGERS ARE NOT READY TO CHEAT THE GOVERNMENT, EVEN THEY HAVE PAID IN ADVANCE FOR RESERVATION. LIKE ME, EVEN THEY HAVE GIVEN ENOUGH PROOF THEY HAVE BEEN TREATED LIKE BEGGERS BECAUSE OF THEIR PERSONAL VENGEANCE. IT IS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE AND DEFINITELY WILL SPOIL THE IMAGE OF THE RAILWAY GOVERNANCE THROUGH THIS KIND OF CHEAP MINDED STAFF. PLEASE DO NOT MAKE TROUBLE TO THE RIGHT PASSENGER TO ACHIEVE YOUR MONTHLY REVENUE TARGETS.

Kindly go through this issue and help me get a proper answer of my sufferings. After getting your reply only, I can proceed further in this issue.
