I have been facing a lot of inconvenience due to frequent seepage of sewerage into the storm drain in front of my house. I have reported this matter to the concerned official and also to former Councillor, Mr. Gunasekhar. I was informed by BWSSB authorities that the sewerage line needs replacement and the proposal has been sent for approval. My house is situated on 2nd Main Road, Vasanthanagar. On the other hand I have noticed that necessary repair works have commenced on 3rd Main Road to replace the sewerage line. Just few days back, I had to face lot of discomfort and unbearable smell from stench which was flowing and getting accumulated in the storm drain in front of my house. My neighbour, Mr. Bhat, Advocate has also reported to have taken up this matter with BWSSB. There seems to be a major damage in the main pipe line running on 2nd Main Road, opposite to our house and foreign particles seems to be clogging the line. On 18th July the BWSSB brought the High Pressure cleaning machine and inserted the pipe into this leakage area. The blockage was cleared and my internal chambers which were filled up with accumulated sewerage was also cleared.
I request the concerned Assistant Executive Engineer to also pay attention to this problem immediately. Since my house in the corner house (i.e No1, 2nd Main Road) and due to a gradient, if a blockage occurs the pipe line will be accumulated with sewerage. The line has been placed somewhere about 55 years ago and must have served its life. It needs replacement.
