I have been using Nokia phones for the last 8 years. My earlier phone was a 6233 and I picked up the Nokia E51 on 17.08.2008 from E-Zone, Homeland, 18 B Ashutosh Mukherjee Road, Bhawanipore, Kolkata - 700020 vide their cash memo No. T10/2629. The IMEI No. of the phone is 358997012875188.
Yesturday, while the phone was is use, it suddenly went blank and despite several attempts, the power did not come on. I took the phone to store (E-Zone) in the afternoon and they referred me to the Nokia Care Service Centre - Arya Infotech 81A, Shyama Prosad Mukherjee Road, Kolkata - 700026, Kolkata. At the service centre, I was told that there is a technical problem with the phone and if the problem could be taken care of by them then I would receive back the phone today (26.08.2008). In case they were unable to repair the problem, they would have to sent it to the Head Office and it would take 15-20 working days before I would get back the phone. Yesturday evening, I received a call from the Service Centre saying that they would have to sent it the Head Office today as they were unable to resolve the problem. The Service Job Sheet Number issued to me by them is 399343506/080825/85 dated 25.08.2006. I told the representative at the Service Center that the phone was purchased only a week back and that if there was any technical problem with the phone it should be replaced. I also told them that it would not be possible for me do without the phone for 15-20 days due to my work commitments and also that I have to travel on 29.08.2008. I was told by them that they try their best but it would still take 2 weeks.
I got the phone registered with Nokia and sent them a mail yesturday to sort out the prombem. No reply was received by me today.
Under the circumstances, if Nokia is unable to replace the phone immediately, I request a refund immediately.
