The owner N.Venkatesh, 6th Cross, 6th Street, Shastri Nagar, Adyar, Chennai has increased the rent for a 1 BHK flat, just 500 sq.feet, from Rs.7500 to Rs.10000.He shamelessly says go if you cant pay, I will get even 12k for it. He is openly cheating all tenants in the building. Last month he said Rs.9k and this month he says Rs.10k. Says he will increase every month if he wants. This is blatant cheating and harassment of tenants
Is there a consumer court for tenants or is this city only for house owners who squeeze hefty sum as advance deposit from tenants and harass them as they want?
