In the may of i took a travel package for Manali from Omega travels for 23K that included following things..:-
We paid all the money and confirmned the booking 2 weeks before the trip and were very excited about it.
Hotel Accommodation on for 3 Nights/ 4 Days in Super Deluxe room in Hotel Evergreen
- Delhi- Manali-Delhi by 2*2 Volvo A/c Video Coach
- Welcome Drink on arrival
- Bed Tea, Breakfast and Dinner for 3 Nights / 4 Days
- 2 glasses of kesar milk on 1st night
- 2 candlelight dinners
- One sight seeing of Rohtang Pass by coach
- One half day local sightseeing of Manali By private car
- All Taxes Inclusive.
so it all started when we reached the connaught place to board the Volvo AC bus. As we reached 3 hrs earlier we thought of calling Omega travels (OT) and finding out when would the bus arrive so that we can roam in the city. The lady from OT was dumbfounded when we told her that we are about to board the bus and wanted to know when the bus will arrive. She asked again as to whether we are going today and said she will call back in a min.
She did not call for the next 10 min, so i ring he back and she gave me a reason that the bus has broke and she will adjust me in some other bus but 2 of the 4 seats would be the last seat of the volvo that would mean a bit of bumpy ride and literally no comfort as there is no foot rest for that and the seat does not go back as well but she assured us that we will get good cosy seats on the return and again give us the new different seat numbers than the ones she had allocated us at the time of bookings.
So we started the journey and two of us sit at the front while the other were suffering at the last seats in the volvo. Now in the morning we reached the hotel.
the Hotel 'Evergreen' which was boasted as '3' start hotel with facilities as good as 4 star hotels.
So when we reached hotel, we were given a make shift arrangement for 3 hours in a room so that once super deluxe rooms are vacated they would fit us in.
The makeshift arrangement room.. was horrible - it has rugged carpets, curtains were all teared, windows were see through, washrooms pathetic - but we said ok fine hopefully the rooms would be good.
So after 3-4 hours service boy came in and told much to our delight that the rooms are ready and so we went to our room.
As soon as we entered the room we found a foul aroma is already there in the room. We requested the service if there is any room freshner but to our surprise this '3' start hotel service boy has not heard of a room freshner. Bed was tattered, carets all the same rugged from places, bathroom dirty, without shower, and with buckets and mugs that are at their dirty best. We were completely shocked with the room and thew treatment and were thinking that even 2 or 1 star hotel are more hiegenic than the proposed 3 star hotel we were in.
But as we have already done the payment we did not had any choice.
So we stayed in the hotel. Just to mention we did not get any welcome drink/2 glasses of kesar milk as mentioned in the package. Infact the hotel staff did not knew about it and said what ever u need u can order and we will give yopu. But there is another catch all that u can order in a day should fall below 600 a day. Now the breakfast for 1 person costs a 100 Rs in the hotel and so i was bogged down that how would we mannage bed tea, breakfast and dinner both with mere 600 as allowance for 6 people when the bedtea breakfast only costs you 450 bugs.
Isn't it a cheating that you are promising breakfast and dinner and then the hotel tells you that they have only 600 and you have to pay the extra amount.
Anyways so the trip was over and we finally thought to depart from the beautiful city. W#hen we arrived the bus pick point the Volvo guy told us that your seat numbers are further changed as the bus did not had any other place and asked to sit at the last seat again.
And this time the volvo AC was not working, the back seats for all 4 of us did not had foot rest and sits did not recline. So it was a simple bus and calling it a volvo would be a crime for us.
I just wonder that had we did this trip separate ly without taking any package from anyone it would have cost us a lot cheaper as when i determined the cost.. it came out to be
3600 for volvo
7800 for hotel acco and 600 food allowance that omega travels gave
2500 for travel expenses for 3 days that any private cab was offerin
so a total of 14000 and we gave those Bast**** a whopping 23k for such a pathetic treatment. I just wonder that if you book your tickets well 2 weeks before the journey and still suffer on the last seat of the volvo which is actually like enjoying a deluxe coach (that costs 450) for 900 rupees.
So i request think twice before taking any package .. atleast from Omega travels
