Non delivery of courier, trying to steal and harassing the custome

This refers to my booking of one parcel with this company vide on 26-08. Till date the parcel has not reached its destination.

Till Wednesday (10-09), I was being told that the parcel has gone missing. On 10th September, I visited thier office and started going into specifics and collected the manifest against which the parcel was sent to Delhi and then contacted Delhi commercial officer Mr. Ashok. When I asked him about the status of 8 parcels in manifest, he told that he has received only 7. On enquiring that why did he not immediately informed to Hyderabad office, he started losing confidence and requested for a discussion with Mr. Sachin at Hyderabad office. On further enquiry with Mr. Sachin, he arranged a call with Mr. Prabhat (Regional Manager, Delhi). He told me a new story that is there was a ink spillage in the parcel bag and my parcel cover was torn and that is why the parcel ended into your godown. But I am surprised that no entry was made into the system to this effect. All this information came out when I started quizzing the people.

Myself, Mr. Prabhat and Sachin had a conference call and there I was assured that since the parcel has been recovered, it will delivered to destination on Thursday (Sept 11). But when the parcel was not delivered even on Friday (Sept 12), I contacted Mr. Sachin again. He put me on line with one Mr. Naresh who told me to provide the list of contents which I provided. He promised to come back to me before end of day which never happened. This morning, I first rang up Mr. Prabhat and enquired about the parcel. He told me that Mr. Sachin from Hyderabad office has instructed to stop the delivery of the parcel, so I should contact him. After that I rang up Mr. Sachin and enquired about the parcel. First he lied that only Delhi office can tell me the status but when I confronted him with reference to my call with Mr. Prabahat suddenly he turned to shouting and told me to come to office and dropped the call.

Now, I have decided to no more pursue this team for my parcel because of non professional attitude and total lack of respect to the customer. Being a professional myself and that too in service industry, I was aghast by the language and response of not only of front desk staff but your regional managers. I tried to reach HO both by phone and mail but nobody picks the phone there and mail got bounced back.

Hence, I will have to take legal recourse in the light of following facts-

1. In the terms and conditions given on the back side of the courier slip with me nowhere it has been mentioned that Mobile phone can not be sent by this courier.

2. As per the staff, the presence of mobile phone got highlighted in the scanning at Delhi. When I enquired why did they not scan it at Hyderabad because as I understand the scanning is done to check the parcel against any prohibited items during transportation and it should be done at the origin and not at the destination.

3. They opened the parcel in my absence and checked the contents. If they had done so in Hyderabad in my presence it would have been ethical but I do not think that you can open the parcel during transit. I smell something fishy into it.
