Respected Authorities, I E.Narender Rao holding a Barclay platinum credit card operated by VISA bearing No. 4339501115237910 valid from 09/08 and valid till 09/11.
Further to inform you I have received a mail on 21st May with the details of my usage of money saying the details as Bill date 16th May and the payable amount as Rs. 13282-51ps and the due date for the same is 6th of June. I have dropped the cheque for Rs. 13282-00 on 6th of June in the drop box preferred by the banker which is a regular one I use to pay every month of Union Bank of India Asif Nagar branch bearing cheque No. 123844. The same details were provided to the banker executive on phone on the same day which is a reqular exercise every month. On the due date the executive will call and confirm the details of payment if it is made or they inform us to pay immediately. The same cheque was encashed with my banker on 17th June. On 22nd June I have received a mail with the details of my usage of money which shows no previous payments received and the amount due is Rs.15173-67 with the details in which my usage is only of Rs. 630-74. When called to bank they informed that the payment was not received till date. To confirm things I got the statement of my Bank Account in which the amount paid to barclay bank was debited on 17th June. For your information I have paid to Citibank credit card for Rs. 6220/- on 8th of June through the same drop box and the amount was debited in my account on 11th of June with cheque No. 123845 which is after the number which I paid to barclay card. When the same thing was clarified to barclay card executive they have informed me that the cheque was received on 16th of June. The real problem with all this discrepencies is I have to pay now Rs. 1300/- and odd as penalties for which no fault at my part. Now I called up again to barclay card and tried to convince the error made from banker part today at 13-30hrs. A gentleman named Mr. Murtuza had answered and informed that the error cannot be happened neither from the banker side nor the courier side. I have to pay all the dues as per the bank statement and settle the issue as they cannot help me out.
Sir my question is when the delay has occured from other part either the banker or the courier people and the barcley banks statement generated on 17th June is saying that the amount was not received till date and my bankers statement is saying that the funds are transfered on 17th June which means the cheque received by the barclay bank is earlier to the funds transfer date which is earlier to the statement date. All this proceedings clearly says that the barclay banks administration is not fair and because of their fault how can I pay Rs. 1300/- odd as penalties. Please guide me in this issue as the due date for my next payment ie with earlier penalties is today and if I don't pay today again I will be penalised for penalties. Please do the needful help and oblige.
