I applied for issue of passport afresh on 22/04 through Kothagudem Post Office which is authorised one in their list of AP Passport offices to collect applns. I complied with all the requirement as printed in the application but the subject officer says that the same has come back for want of residence certificate from the Thasildar.
Nowhere it is mentioned that such certificate is warranted but option of one among the ten but I submitted three yet I am demanded the same is it is at the height of absurdity. Despite it is printed that the students staying away from parents have option to apply from the area where they resided for the past one year or from native, the officer at Khammam Superintendent of Police, Passport division point blank refused to accept stating to apply where the candidate lives in. However, the subject officer was courteous by offering chair under fan since I was profusely perspiring. But there is no concrete guidance over the same, from the passport office.
Why such harassment for obtaining the passport despite furnishing all the facts with documentary proof is anybody's guess.
