I wish to bring to your notice that I had applied for the re-issue of my kid’s passport on 13th April under Tatkaal scheme paying Rs 2100-00 as fees. As I understand, the norms for Re-Issue of kid’s passport under Tatkaal scheme is 3-4 working days. It has been more than 10 days since I have applied for the passport and I still observe the status on your website that the passport is likely to despatched by 4th May 09. I donot understand why the passport office should take such a long time in issuing passport when we have already paid Tatkaal fees. If in case, the delay is anticipated for whatever reason, the passport office should not collect the Tatkaal fees in the first place.
I also wish to inform you that the service at the passport office was absolutely poor with no officer willing to explain the timelines and the way applications are accepted from citizens without even properly and courteously explaining to citizens/ applicants hurts us. Since the details for kid’s passport application under Tatkaal is not clearly mentioned on the website, I had travel two times to Hyderabad making it a very expensive affair for me as I had travel a distance of 600 KM each way during each trip. I was told that the applications have to be filed online which is not mentioned on the website.
Request you to look into the matter and help expedite the process.
I have an urgency in getting my kid’s passport at the earliest as I have to then apply for his Australia visa as my dependant and take him along with me by 4th May 09 during my return to Australia. That was the whole intention of applying for the passport under Tatkaal scheme and the whole purpose is defeated with the passport not being issued/dispatched within the Tatkaal timelines.
I will wait to hear from you further on the same.
