Deactivation of CHRISTIAN SMART ALERTS

I am a pre-paid Airtel user for the last 7 years. My number is 9810422901.

Of late, I am finding the airtel has started cheating its customers by subscribing to them, without their consent, on some alerts, like CHRISTIAN SMART ALERTS, etc. and charging Rs 30 per month.

I have also been receiving this for a few months.

When I came to know on Feb 1 that an amount of Rs. 30 has been deducted from my account, I tried to speak to the lousy Customer Care Service of Airtel. I was told that I should press *646*912# to deactivate the CHRISTIAN SMART ALERTS. Since then I have tried this nearly 1000 times but every time I get a result flashed on my screen saying “RESULT UNKNOWN”. I spoke to nearly 15-20 Customer Care Executives since then and every one saying the same thing or assuring that the alerts will be deactivated within 48 hours. But so far they are still coming every day. Not only that, and after I spoke to the Customer Care of Airtel for deactivation of the Alerts, I also got a SMS that an amount of Rs. 7 has been deducted from my account.

AirTel should immediately stop sending me CHRISTIAN SMART ALERTS and refund the money deducted from my account as I had never activated/ subscribed for these alerts.

Since I have failed to get the CHRISTIAN SMART ALERTS deactivated from my mobile phone, despite repeated requests, reminders, etc., I am now forced to start a complaint campaign against Airtel.
