Unreasonable Disconnection of service

My Name is Suresh Sathy. I bought the digital Tv service from an electonics store in Mumbai on 16th December and they told us to pay 3500.00 including 6 months subscription. They further told not to open the pack and that support staff will come home and get them installed and started. All went ok for 10-15 days.

On 16th January midnight (12am) service got disconnected and after so much calling in toll free no. it was restored after a day. We called the Airtel support centre and

they told we better recharge around May 1st week for next 6 months.

Then suddenly in February we started getting smses asking us to recharge as balance is 0.00. I called support staff in toll free No. and they told me to ignore the sms. I asked them to see to it that service is not disconnected like in January. They also agreed that I could recharge in May around 10th.

I even told them that my account should not show 0.00, it should show 2500.00 (paid for 6 months initially) and from which 424.00 to be deducted monthly. In such situation in Feb.2009 account should not show 0.00 balance.

On 10th/11th I spoke to some employees at the toll free No. and they told us to ignore smses. We wanted to talk to the manager, but we could hear her telling that she did not want to talk to customer.

This is the type of service we get from airtel and I am not satisfied one bit. We changed from cable to Digital service thinking we would get good quality and service. Of course quality of TV service I dont complain. But quality of customer service is horrible. Imagine people who are glued to TV for 24 hours but with no service for almost a day. Now 2 days in 2 months. This is not customer support service, instead Customer Torture service.

I intend filing a complaint in consumer court citing the harassment caused by Airtel's deficient service.

I never expected this kind of service to customers.
