Not working for 20 days!

I got Digital TV installed on 3-9-09 vide Customer ID 300 140 89 42, STB ID 3277 34777 68 View Card No 0000 131 232 52.

It functioned till 9th when I had to leave Chennai on work.

After my return when I switched on the STB on 24th Sep, I started receiving Error Code 2 stating that the View Card is not an Airtel Cad or it may not be inserted properly! (But it was the original Airtel Card and I had not touched it!)

I complained to the Customer Care through 1-800-102 80 80. After a few hours the worked for some time and again started showing the same error message.

Thereafter started my tales of woe and frustration. I have made 28 calls so far. But the problem remains unsolved.

It is evident that the STB / View Card are defective and need to be replaced, as it can work for only a few minutes in every 24 hours!

I call the customer care everyday. Everyday I am promised that the problem will be solved the next day. But it has so far not been solved.

I am given each time a new deadline and I am forced to stay at home hoping somebody will call or visit to replace the defective equipment. But nothing happens. When I call and complain I am given a new date and time. This has been going on for close to 20 days now.

In this period I have spoken to so many customer care call centre people (Vikas, Roopa, Radheshyam, Edison, Vanmathi, Mahesh and so on.) Two people claiming to be some kind of supervisors also spoke to me. Mr Kabir promised that an engineer would come at 13-00 hrs on 10th; of course, nobody called or came. A similar promise had been made by Mr Edison (solving by 1600 hrs on 10th), Vanmathi (solving by 15 hrs on 12th), Mahesh (solving by 13 hrs on 13th), Sonia D'Sousa (withing 45 minutes, ie 15-45 hrs on 12th) and so on.

But nothing happens!

From the website, I find that Airtel provides very poor customer care services. So many people have complaints.

Once and for all, can somebody in Airtel management tell me whether Airtel has any intention of solving the problem, and by what date?

I have made 28 calls in all, spent over 400 minutes talking to Call Centre guys and not watched any TV for which I have paid.

Will someone wake up?
