I had taken a prepaid sim on Mon 5/25 from a shop near by my office cybergateway hi tech city, Hyderabad. i gave the necessary documents& my account was activated within less than 30 minutes of my taking the sim. Than all of a sudden i get a sms from airtel that my application for the new prepaid connection has been rejected on 2nd june at 10:41 am (IST) & by the evening my outgoing calls are barred. at night when i call 121 customer care, they give me complaint number 060243434804.when i inquire, after getting the call escalated to the third level the manager customer service says that the documents which i submitted are not proper & hence my outgoing calls were barred.
Now the things which i submitted to the shop keeper are :
1) My employer ID card
2) My PAN card
3) My Ex-voter's ID Card from orissa
4) A letter from my employer, on the company letter head regarding my current residing address with my house owner's name.
5) A recent photograph
Now their stand is something like a passport with the current address given in the application, driving license, landline phone bills- BSNL (on my name), electricity bills on my name, Ration card or gas connection on my name should be given. Else it has to be signed & attested by a gadgeted officer.
I dont understand that a person who is not a native of the place who cannot have any of these documents... can't he/she be given a damn prepaid sim... they are just finding new ways to harass the customer. & their customer service team is so pathetic that it cannot come clearly what it wants to convey.
