I got myself an Airtel prepaid connection number 9717623678 in April. On the day of getting the connection and paying the life-time free (incoming) connection, I was asked to submit my address verification the next day. I duly submitted the address verification the very next day.
I had used the connection for a couple of days. Then it was dormant for some time.
Now, it shows 'Sim card registration failed'. Whenever I put the handset off and put it on again, the same message comes up.
When I complained about this to Airtel customer care officer, I got this following reply: "Your Airtel Mobile 9717623678 was permanently disconnected due to address verification failure. We understand the inconvenience faced. We would like to inform that once the Airtel Prepaid number gets permanently disconnected, the same may not be issued again. Also, we will not be able to provide you that left out balance. We regret the infeasibility to reactivate the same. "
As I had submitted the address verification the very next day, and it appears that Airtel must have misplaced it, the failure is not my fault. I feel that at least the balance amount (99% amount is balance) already paid should not be 'digested' by Airtel, and should be refunded to me directly, or through some other connection.
Please let me know how to resolve this.
