Respected Sir / Madam,
I am from Chennai. I am working for a MNC Bank as a Customer Service Rep. My per day salary is Rs. 700 and I use City Bus service to reach my office which is approx. 35kms from my house. Day to day I have lots of problems with the bus services from my place apart from the ticket price hike. But I was able to manage all those situations and I am normally not a person who will get tempered soon. But today morning (5th DEC) when I came as regular to the bus stop there was not even a single bus from any specific route. I was waiting for more than 10mins and the situation was the same. Luckily at least my route bus came and I tried to board the bus but obviously bus was full within just an eye shake. Then I went and asked reason for this empty bus stand to "TIME KEEPER" (person responsible to keep up the timings of all the buses operate from that bus stand) he replied that "I don't know", just go and wait for the bus once it comes board it.
I know those transport department employees has issues regarding their salary and some incentives. But being a person appointed for Consumer direct contact, I never expected this kind of reply. I didn't continued that conversation and came back waited for the bus again. Please have some courtesy to the public.
I would like to explain the difference between Customer Support in Public and Private sector. People working for Private sector has number of protocols set for them and if they found breaking these rules not more than 2 times given an opportunity which will lead to a termination without any notice. Even sometimes first occasion itself termination might be issued which we call it as Level 1 defect. But on the other hand Public sector it's very simple that whatever they do, they will get their salary (may be delayed or at most after certain penalty) and they have pretty secured life with Life insurance scheme from Government and also pension what else. I hope that's the reason why we are not able to find the same kind of service in Govt. sector.
We came across number of bundhs (Strike) from all the Public sector people. Take an example again the same transport corporation. They do bundh for the reason that they never received any salary hike or bonus has been canceled or some times incentives are reduced. But have we ever heard the news that a Govt. dept dong strike for the reason that they are not able to do the best service to public due to Govt.'s carelessness. Again the transport dept. we can see at least 30% of buses are not good conditioned and operating in our city for about last 7 years. Any one Driver or Conductor doing strike saying the bus quality is not good and so I am not able to drive it on time or else the road facility is not good. Bus is flagged as Delux but it's not delux when the interior condition is concerned. I don't find a way for brighter India. Hope this continues I am sure even before my death I won't see India to be a developed country. Now I am 26. Just a small deviation that the same situation is happening even in BSNL.
This is just my small tears that I am not in a position to do anything directly to my country even after being a Computer Science Engineer. I don't know but I guess something should happen immediately to all the politicians only then we can make some thing happen and the same can be happened only with the help of Government workers who really has direct power...!!!
