I have deposited a postal savings (Account No. 576954 opened in GPO, Hyderabad) cheque No. 576954 dt. 19 June' 10, for Rs. 19, 700/- in Account NO. 18366 in Andhra Bank, Bakaram Br., Hyderabad. On this date, my postal A/c balance was Rs. 24, 334/-. The post office has debited to my postal Svngs A/c an unknown strange amount of Rs. 22, 400/- on 23 June' 10 and returned my cheque to Andhra Bank with remarks as " Insufficient Funds in the Account". For their mistake, the post office has debited Rs. 50/- to my savngs A/c as "cheque dishonour charges" while I have been penalized and got debited Rs. 110/- to my bank A/c for the "rejected cheque" by the Andhra Bank. Due to such careless mistake by the Post office, I have suffered mental harassment, inconvenience and delays despite penalties. The post office should suitably compensate me for this.
