Hello Everyone,
I have read many complaints regarding Immigration Consultants and decided to caution all the people who are planning to immigrate to Canada. If you decide to choose a consultant to work on behalf of you, MAKE SURE he/she is authorized by Government of Canada and a member in good standing of Canadian Society of Immigration Consulting (CSIC).
Other things to consider:
1. Ask the consultant for CSIC ID.
2. Check their status on CSIC website (https://www.csic-scci.ca/)
3. Always read the Retainer Agreement carefully, and always ask for a copy of it, signed by you and the consultant.
4. Ask for a copy of the application forms to be included for submission to a visa post.
5. Make sure the consultant have included the form IMM5476 (Use of a representative form).
6. Please be advised that an “Agent” is not an Immigration Consultant. The role of an “Agent” is to provide assistance to the Immigration Consultant with obtaining clients and information regarding clients.
7. If you think, your consultant has breached the terms of Retainer Agreement and/or of CSIC by-laws, the matter should be reported to CSIC (https://www.csic-scci.ca/)
ALWAYS CONSULT WITH A CERTIFIED IMMIGRATION CONSULTANT NOT WITH AN AGENT.
Thank You.
