Delay in passport verification

I have applied for my passport so many days back and still verification is not came to my place.:-).if i go for asking the status in police station kg halli bangalore:-). Passport polices will asking money and if i didnt give the money they r not telling the status and they r telling come tomoro come tomoro and go a poor person please her me.:).
