Please let me know the period of days normally required to obtain a passport for an Indian girl who is studying in India.
My daughter who passed 12th CBSE Examination from a school in Dubai. Her previous passport for 5 years issued in Dubai and she hold Dubai visa too.
For higher studeis she went to India several times, and last visied Indian end June. Her passport validity was upto 15the November and hence applied for new passport on 25th October with RPO.
Waiting to receive the new passport to return to Dubai, but took 54 days to obtain the same.
I would like to know whether it is normal to take this much time to get a new passport in India.
I used to enquire with the RPO Trivandrum and Indian Consulate in Dubai regarding the status of delivery frequently. Dubai Consulate informs that they have nothing to do to get the passport faster since everything is available online. But when enquiring with RPO they are reluctuant to answer the calls and there is no specific answer or reason. They have the answer "everything you can see/available online.
Is it possible to travel with the availability of details online? and not issuing the passport.
Just concerned that if this is the case of an Indian girl student, what would be the case for others??
