Harrasment at passport office

Pass port office CHANDIGARH is un-necessary harassing the applicant for the reason best known to them. My son has went to passport office on the day of appointment with full documents under normal catagory. He has with him Orignal of all the documents loaded at the time of registration of getting the appointment. Reporting time was 10 AM He was informed during appointment that his lattest bank account statement is needed showing his address proof by 11 am. Knowimg very well that he is a student and may not be having bank account. How ever we provided the statement clearly written by bank that account is regular even then he was returned back with the remarks that last one year statement is required and now time is over and he has to take fresh appointment. I AM SURE EVEN THE APO SITTING IN OFFICE AND OBJECTING WILL ALSO BE NOT IN A POSITION TO BRING THE STATEMENT IN SUCH A SHORT TIME PERIOD.It is not under stood why one year statement is required when bank official (Govt Bank) has given in writing that account is regular and Passport deptt. will get the police verification.

Earlier also base less requsition was made in case of my daughter whose passport got damaged from corners but everty thing is visible. Though as per pass port office rules given to us on printed form no verification is required from any govt official above the rank of COL.SECRITART DSP ETC. Even then we were made to go back and take fresh appointment. When we asked them why this is required even if it is required for police verification exemption you may get the police verification and if there is any delay it is accepted by us even then we were asked to take fresh appointment.

It seems that Pass Port Officials feel pleasure in troubling common people or there is some thing black at the bottom
