Extra maintenance

Hi,

I was staying in a rented house with my friends from last 3yrs. When we were vacating the house now he charged us 42, 000 as maintenance charges.

We were fine with paint and small damages that happened. But other than that he got other things like sanitary changed, polished which were fine and were as we got initially.

According to the way things work is a max of one month rent is deducted as maintenance charge. When we went and talked to him he was not ready to hear anything.

Also we believe that whatever the estimates he had given us are too high.

Please help us here.
